Welcome to Garden Tea Rooms in Writtle. We opened in August 2002 and have been made very welcome by the local residents. We hope you enjoy our website and your visit to Garden Tea Rooms, and look forward to seeing you again soon.


Writtle is one of the most attractive villages in Essex. Set around a quiet village green, there are specialist shops, traditional pubs and period houses which all contribute to its picturesque image.

We are pleased to welcome Alex, who plays our piano each week. Usually a Tuesday, between 12pm & 2pm, please come and listen.

We have also now taken down the outside covers and you can enjoy the delights of the garden centre and some sunshine whilst dining.
